Introducing the SG3525 series, a family of pulse width modulator integrated circuits designed to revolutionize your switching power supply applications. These chips deliver enhanced performance while simplifying your design process.
Precision Control Made Easy
The SG3525 series features an onboard +5.1 V reference voltage, precisely trimmed to 1%. This eliminates the need for external resistors in the error amplifier's input common-mode range.
Sync and Dead Time Adjustment
Syncing multiple units or aligning a single unit with an external system clock is effortless thanks to the sync input. Fine-tuning dead time requires just a single resistor connection between the Cr and discharge terminals.
Efficiency and Reliability
These ICs include a built-in soft-start circuit, necessitating only an external timing capacitor. The shutdown terminal efficiently manages both the soft-start circuit and the output stages. It allows for rapid shutdown through the PWM latch with pulsed shutdown and supports soft-start recycle with extended shutdown commands.
Undervoltage Lockout for Added Safety
For sub-normal input voltages, the undervoltage lockout keeps the outputs off and ensures the soft-start capacitor is discharged. With approximately 500 mV of hysteresis, this feature guarantees smooth operation.
Innovative PWM Circuitry
The SG3525 series employs a latch following the comparator, resulting in outputs that remain off for the duration of the period and reset with each clock pulse. The output stages, designed with totem-pole configurations, can handle over 200 mA in both sourcing and sinking modes. In the SG3525 variant, the output stage uses NOR logic, resulting in a LOW output for an OFF state.
