The LSM6DSOTR supports both I²C and SPI interfaces. For I²C, it uses the SCL (clock) and SDA (data) lines, which need to be connected to VDDIO with pull-up resistors. The I²C interface starts communication with a high-to-low transition on the SDA line while the SCL line is high. Devices on the bus compare the received address to their own to determine if they should respond.
The device uses a clock (SPC), serial data input (SDI), and serial data output (SDO) when it is in SPI mode. The I/C and SPI modes are selected by the CS pin. It can be configured in 3-wire or 4-wire configurations for SPI. Make sure the CS pin is high in order to use I²C.
